MACROPHAGE

Our unique treatment that enhances the effectiveness of stem cell therapy

We often hear people say, "I underwent stem cell therapy, but I didn't see the changes I expected."

In fact, one of the reasons for this is that chronic inflammation reduces the function of macrophages (immune cells).

At our clinic, we combine stem cell therapy with treatments that regulate macrophage function to ensure that stem cells can fully promote recovery. This improves the inflammatory environment in the body and creates a foundation for stem cells to exert their true potential.

Clinic Le GINZA is
The only clinic in Japan that offers macrophage treatment*.

What are macrophages?

Macrophages are a type of immune cell that protects our bodies.
They are a type of white blood cell and are known as "cleaners" that deal with bacteria, viruses, broken cells, and other invading bacteria in the body.
However, the true importance of macrophages lies in their ability to transform beyond mere cleaning roles into "repair support" roles.

This "switching" of roles is key to the body's ability to heal properly.

The two roles of macrophages

Cleaner (M1 type)
Removes bacteria and broken cells from inflamed areas
Repair support role (M2 type)
Promotes tissue repair and supports stem cell function

How do macrophages function in a healthy body?

When our body is injured or inflamed, it repairs itself in the following sequence shown in the diagram. Macrophages play an important role in this process.

However, in the presence of chronic inflammation, this switch is disrupted, and macrophages become stuck in their cleaning role, stalling the repair process.

As a result,

  • Recovery steps not progressing
  • Chronic inflammation
  • Chronic pain and discomfort
  • Repeated treatments only result in temporary improvement

In other words, no matter how excellent the regenerative ability of stem cells is, recovery will not begin in earnest unless the body's environment is in good condition.

The body's repair mechanism

  1. Inflammation occurs(Indicate the damaged area)
  2. Stops bleeding(Platelets seal the wound)
  3. Macrophages
Cleaning up broken cells and bacteria
  4. Macrophages replace the cleaning role
    Switch to repair support role
  5. This is importantStem cells create new tissue(Stem cells gather from various places)
  6. Cells cooperate with each other(Information exchange through exosomes)
  7. Completely healed(Tissue regeneration completed)

Macrophage therapy lays the foundation for recovery
Arrange

The body's natural recovery always begins with "environmental improvement." The natural flow is for "tissue regeneration" to proceed on top of that.
However, in conventional treatments, stem cells are often administered when chronic inflammation is ongoing.
In this case, stem cells focus on suppressing inflammation and are unable to fully exert their natural healing power.

If the foundation is not in place

  • Stem cells use energy to fight inflammation
  • Unable to focus on repairs
  • Playback ability is not fully utilized

Once the foundation is in place

  • Stem cells can focus on recovery
  • Provides necessary nutrients and oxygen
  • Stem cells also function more smoothly

Our treatments follow a process that follows the body's natural healing process.

Stage1 Macrophage treatment
(Environmental Improvement)

  • Regulate chronic inflammation
  • Switching macrophages to a repair support role
  • Creating an environment where stem cells can function

Stage2 Stem cell therapy (full-scale tissue regeneration)

  • Injecting stem cells into the prepared environment
  • Stem cells dedicated to recovery
  • Sustained improvement can be expected over 1-2 years

This is the body's natural recovery process.
First, by preparing the right "field," stem cells can exert their maximum potential.

FAQ

  • What is macrophage therapy and why is it needed?

Macrophage therapy is a pretreatment treatment offered exclusively at our clinic in Japan (as of August 2025) to maximize the effectiveness of stem cell therapy. Macrophages: - A type of immune cell in the body - Normally, they act as "cleaners" to remove bacteria and damaged cells - In a healthy body, they switch to a "repair support" role, promoting tissue regeneration. Why is it necessary?: When chronic inflammation is present, macrophages remain fixed in their "cleaner" role and are unable to switch to a "repair support" role. As a result, even if stem cells are administered, the treatment is ineffective. Macrophage therapy promotes this switch, creating an environment in which stem cells can function at their full potential. As a result, symptoms may improve with macrophage therapy alone.

  • Why can't I get macrophage therapy at other regenerative medicine clinics?

Macrophage therapy requires special techniques and expertise. Reasons why only our clinic can offer it: 1. Exclusive contract: Treatment using techniques under an exclusive contract with an overseas institution 2. Treatment by specialists: A team of doctors well versed in macrophage therapy 3. Special culture techniques: Techniques for properly adjusting macrophages 4. Comprehensive treatment system: Systematized as Cell Revival® While other clinics generally only offer stem cell therapy, our clinic achieves even greater therapeutic effects by combining it with macrophage therapy as a pre-treatment.

  • What are the specific treatment methods and duration of macrophage therapy?

Macrophage therapy involves cultivating and adjusting macrophages collected from the patient's blood and returning them to the body. Treatment procedure: 1. Blood collection. 2. Macrophage isolation and cultivation (2-3 weeks). 3. Functional adjustment: From M1 type (cleaning role) to M2 type (repair support role). 4. Administration: Infusion or local injection. Treatment period: 2-4 weeks after blood collection, administered in 1-3 divided doses depending on symptoms. After macrophage therapy is completed, the patient will transition to stem cell therapy. The period will be adjusted depending on the degree of chronic inflammation.

  • Are there any side effects to macrophage therapy? Can it be taken alone?

Side effects: Macrophage therapy uses your own cells, so there are very few serious side effects. Minor side effects: - Mild pain or internal bleeding at the blood collection site - Mild feeling of heat after administration (resolves in 1-2 days) - Temporary swelling (joints) About standalone treatment: Macrophage therapy can be performed on its own. It is especially recommended for the following: - Those with severe chronic inflammation - Those who have undergone stem cell therapy at another hospital but have not seen satisfactory results - Those who want to first improve their internal environment However, to achieve maximum results, we recommend combining it with subsequent stem cell therapy (Cell Revival®).

  • How can the effectiveness of macrophage therapy be confirmed?

At our clinic, we not only check for changes in symptoms, but also scientifically quantify the effectiveness of treatment. Effectiveness Measurement Methods: 1. Chronic Inflammation Test - Changes in CRP, IL-1β, IL-6, and TNFα - Confirm reduction in inflammation levels before and after treatment 2. Improvement in Clinical Symptoms - Pain Reduction (Evaluated Using a Visual Analogue Scale) - Fatigue Improvement - Improved Sleep Quality 3. Immune Function Test - Macrophage Function Assessment - Improvement in M1/M2 Balance Time to See Results: - After 2-3 weeks: Improvement in inflammatory markers - After 1 month: Subjective symptoms begin to improve - After 2-3 months: Sustained improvement Regular testing allows us to verify the effectiveness of treatment with objective data, eliminating any concerns you may have about whether the treatment is truly working.
